How To Go From A Keg Belly To A Six Pack
Everyone wants to know if aerobics is better than strength training or cardio better than intervals. The main question is “What is the best way to lose my belly fat?”
Well, to say I’ve done them all would be an understatement.
Using laboratory research and training for at least 15 years both for myself and sports I can tell you what exercises work and what don’t.
But first of all, I want to frame my responses. I’m going to talk about what works for people that have a limited amount of time to exercise, mostly because I expect your readers don’t have 90 minutes per day to devote to a workout, unlike the typical audience of a fitness magazine.
That’s why there is a huge disconnect between some of the information found in magazines and the ability of the reader to apply it to their lives.
For someone who is not a triathlete and just wants to tone and lose weight you don’t need to work out 6-8 hours/week.
Having said all that, the bottom line for getting a better body is…
Use bodyweight exercises to warm-up, strength training supersets to build muscle, and then finish your workout with interval training to burn fat in a short amount of time. I’ve structured my system so that you are in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, three times per week.
Spend 5 minutes warming up with bodyweight exercise. If you spend 5 minutes on a treadmill it will only prepare you for more time on the treadmill. Using bodyweight will be much more efficient.
Then we move into the strength training supersets, where we use two exercises performed back to back with minimum rest between each. This cuts our workout time, while still giving us maximum results. We only need 20 minutes for this, and we’ll use basic exercises, and sometimes even more bodyweight exercises, depending on the client’s goal for muscle building.
Finally, 18 minutes of interval training. This will include a warm up, then determined by the client’s fitness level five or six short intervals while switching off with short periods of low intensity recovery.
That will be a much more effective workout than running, cycling, or a cardio machine for 45 min straight. Sure they all burn calories but they don’t build a better body.
In fact, long slow cardio has a downside. We already know results are different. But overusing muscle groups leads to injuries and it is an inefficient form of exercise. When are you going to build your muscles and sculpt that beautiful body if you are on a cardio machine for 30-45 min straight?
So the best way to burn belly fat is with a combination of strength training and interval training. It’s fast, it works, and it’s fun!

Understanding Free Radicals and Aging
To really grasp what a free radical is, you must look at at it from a chemical level of cells and molecules. Here’s a quick chemistry lesson: The chemical composite of the human body is comprised of different types of cells.
Cells are composed of many different types of molecules. Molecules consist of one or more atoms of one or more elements joined by chemical bonds.
Atoms consist of a nucleus, neutrons, protons and electrons. The number of protons (positively charged particles) in the atoms nucleus determines the number of electrons (negatively charged particles) surrounding the atom.
Electrons are responsible for the chemical reactions that take place inside the atom as well as the substance that holds the atom together to form molecules. Electrons orbit the atom in one or more shells.
The innermost shell is full when it has two electrons. When the first shell is full, electrons begin to fill the second shell. When the second shell has eight electrons, it is full.
The single most important feature in determining the chemical behavior of an atom is how many electrons are contained in the outer shell.
An atom that has a full outer shell does not enter in chemical reactions. Atoms seek to reach a state of maximum stability by one of the following:

Burns, MD, of the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and member of the American Academy of Neurology.
The results remained the consistent needless of age, gender, severity of dementia, or physical activity and frailty. There was no relationship between higher fitness levels and brain changes in the group of people without dementia.
“People with early Alzheimer’s disease may be able to preserve their brain function for a longer period of time by exercising regularly and potentially reducing the amount of brain volume lost.
