Guitar Lessons DVD – The Sub-Genres of the Blues
It is crucial to your safety that you learn these things first instead of just learning guitar chords for songs. For beginner acoustic guitar players, one of the hardest things to get around is the pain that is commonly associated with learning to play acoustics.
The following tutorial will show you exactly how a few playing techniques help some of the more popular sub-genres of blues to distinguish themselves from the rest. With the help of these great tips you should be well on your way to mastering the blues.
The best way to combat this is to stretch before playing. Put together a routine of stretching out your fingers and warming up the muscles in your hands prior to playing in order to prevent injuries. If you are experiencing unbearable amount of pain it is extremely important to not play through the pain as this can just cause further injury.
Some of the most common injuries are joints and muscle problems in the hands, neck, and back. This occurs when players do not learn the basics of posture in terms of how exactly to hold their guitar.
As long as you follow these tips and use them to build a great foundation, you will have everything you need to start learning guitar chords for songs. Find out with the review of the best guitar training courses.
One of the most important things to learn is how to properly hold your guitar. When first trying to get comfortable with playing you should always be paying attention to your posture.
In order to play Texas Blues you need to be able to play with small bends and intense vibrato. Although there are many different ways of achieving this, perhaps one of the most widely used techniques is bending.
What you want to do is only turn your head when focusing on the neck of your guitar and try to keep your back as straight as possible. This is perhaps the best tip for learning how to play acoustic guitar that you will get from guitar lessons dvd.

The Art of Buying and Reselling
Tired of thinking something for yourself? Nothing new to sell much these days? Don’t have the effort for innovation or you are simply just bored?
You should take to being a merchant then. This mercantile trade of buying things from people at a discounted price and then earning a profit by selling them to people of other locales. Just like how the merchants did it in the olden times.
This is especially good if you have a transport, an active directory of all fairs and festivals happening around the country or state (country would be better, of course, you’d have to consider the fare expenses too, especially with state-to-state traveling), a knack for customer relations and good mathematical ability. Like how much will you profit over your expenses, your cost? If you do this, will you gain more or lose some?
You would be traveling, quite A LOT. Of course, if you’re really that good, and the products you bought really live up to their name, then have a go for it. Much better if you realize you’re good at this and then consider a shift in careers. That way, you can make a map of yearly activities for yourself.
Consider the wares you are going to sell too. Have a good stock and supply for upcoming events when you have established yourself. Earn a good reputation with your “suppliers” (that means the people you brought your good from) because they will be your “customers” once you have moved on to the next festival. Avoid perishables (especially food) unless you’re sure you can sell it.
It would definitely work if your charm can sell ice to Eskimos. But you really don’t have to be THAT good. Success is not an overnight thing. Try and try, improve and learn the ropes, the tricks of the trade. If you are forthright dedicated to this, you are sure to succeed.

Louisiana Creole Cooking
The state of Louisiana is the home base to a lot of Creole and Cajun style of cooking. The use of spices, seafood, and herbs are typical of this style of cooking, fused with influences from different nations like the French, the Spanish, Caribbean, Mediterranean, African and of course, the American.
It also holds a hallmark of Italian and German type of cooking. Creole cooking leaned towards the influence of European style cooking, adapted with local food. This is like a reminder on how the fusion style of cuisine had grown, developing from the same notion of adaption and local ingredients.
The influence of Spain in Creole cooking is the evident use of peppers for heat, the incorporation of rice in most dishes and the use of beans (which could faintly remind one’s self with paella style of cooking). They also use tomatoes in dishes far more extensively and sometimes in a grandiose manner. Pasta and sauces are mainstays in Creole cuisine. The cuisine had passed through the hands of African-American chefs and cooks, and were thus heavily influenced too by this.
The one glaring similarity between Creole and Cajun style cooking is the employment of what is called the ‘holy trinity’. This refers to the three mainstays in cooking, namely, chopped green peppers, onions and celery. There is also the generous addition of file’ powder, which is ground dried leaves of the sassafras tree, when cooking. The most famous and recognized dish in Creole cooking is gumbo.
Gumbo is a stew mostly served around the U.S. South and the Gulf Coast of the United States. Cooking gumbo requires strong stock, meat and shellfish, a thickener (file’ powder was mentioned earlier), and the holy trinity of vegetables. Gumbo is said to be the pinnacle of creole cooking, being the ultimate melting pot of all the different tastes of the world.

What to Look for in Inflatable Boats and Kayaks
With outdoor water sports and hobbies, there is nothing more innovative than inflatable boats and kayaks. One obvious advantage with these vessels is that they have features and qualities that permit water activities that cant be possible with rigid hulls. Not all inflatable units are great though. If you want the best inflatable unit, you need to consider a few factors.
A Name Behind It
There are many new product brands that are as good as established ones. You should however, have second thoughts about getting a kayak from an unknown brand name. After all, a good inflatable kayak can spell the different between enjoyment and disaster in the rapids. Before you buy a kayak, make sure that you are getting one from a trusted name. If you are unfamiliar with the brand name, take some time to do research.
Guarantees and Warranties
These are important service features that are part of every quality product. If you are not very familiar with a kayak brand, this is one of the aspects that you need to look for first. Although most quality inflatable boats rarely ever get damaged, some may come with factory defects. You could end up with a kayak with skewed kegs or one that tips too easily. A guarantee of some sort is your best consumer protection.
Durability Features
Do your assignment. Research on inflatable boats and kayaks and have a good look at them. Be sure that they have a couple of safety and durability features. They should for example come in reinforced, coated or multi layered fabric. Seams should preferably not be glued together but should instead be stitched or electrically sealed. Some products have durability tests that you can view or read about which can put you at ease.
Portability Features
Boats that are inflatable are naturally portable. This is what is most appealing about inflatable units. Some manufacturers though may recommend pre inflating units for transport or keeping them inflated for storage. This defeats the purpose of inflatable units. Users generally want one so they can easily lug their boats and kayaks around. Find out if a boat or kayak has a portable pump and how long it takes to inflate it.
Independent Testimonials
Loyal users of a good brand will not hesitate to recommend a good product. Good user reviews and testimonials are clues to a boat or kayaks quality. You just have to make sure though that what you are reading are independent opinions. Otherwise, you could just be reeled in by a paid review.
Flexibility and Versatility
For a kayak or boat to function well in different situations, it must be flexible. Depending on the boat design, you can have one for rapids riding, fishing and leisure paddling. You can quickly see how flexible and versatile a specific model is by looking through its product specifications and uses. If you are not sure about a boat or kayak, ask about it through customer service.
Inflatable boats and kayaks are obviously great options you may want to consider. You will have better chances though of enjoying your water ride if you have just the right vessel on hand.

Violin Lessons Made Easy
If you are thinking about picking up a musical instrument, violin is a good choice. Violin lessons are a wonderful introduction to the world of music. This instrument has a beautiful sound, and it works well with a variety of musical types.
Should you think of taking violin lessons, you will need to find a good teacher. As you begin your search, ask pertinent questions about how much the teachers you are considering have played violin. Be sure to compare the credentials of several teachers. Someone whose primary instrument is the violin will be a better choice than someone who began playing on another instrument and made a later switch.
Ask any teachers you are considering what they plan to teach. The most comprehensive lessons will include a combination approach. The student should be learning theory, which is a study of how musical sounds are made, as well as scales and musical selections. This triad is the best way to produce a well-rounded musician.
Ask any teachers you are considering what they expect from you. Some will want a complete devotion and will expect daily practice time while others will be happier with moderate progress. Still other teachers will not have any set expectations before you begin. Be sure you are on the same page with your teacher about the expectations for results from your violin teacher.
Many people who take violin lessons also want to have some performance time. Check with the teachers you are interviewing about their policy regarding student performances. Some teachers plan annual or semi-annual concerts, and that frequency works really well for most students.
As the time for your initial lesson nears, you need to make sure you have your violin ready to go. You may want to purchase additional supplies, such as resin for your bow. Your teacher or a salesperson at the local music store should be able to help you get the right accessories for your violin lessons.
At your first lesson, make sure you bring a notebook and a pencil. You may need to take notes on the music or on advice your teacher gives. While your teacher undoubtedly will have those items available as well, it is important that you let her know that you are prepared as well.
While you are at your lesson, remember that you are paying for a service. Music teachers have a tendency to be harsh, especially of students they think are not listening closely enough. Just keep in mind that you are paying to learn to play, and you can push your teacher to review material or to slow down if you need it.
You should set out a definitive practice schedule when you are getting started. While you may think you will only practice once or twice a week, daily practice likely will be needed when you are getting started. The best way to set a schedule is to write it in your calendar to keep the time blocked out.
Violin lessons, or any musical lesson, are a long-term commitment. You should plan to commit yourself for at least one year before you make a decision about continuing. The first few months can be stressful, especially if you are new to music in general, so you should give it enough time to make a clear decision.

Carp Fishing Bait Tips For More Big Fish!
Many more new carp anglers swell the ranks of already heavily-pressured carp waters each year, and any tips and tricks and insights that give you edges other anglers and their baits, preferably saving you loads of money too, are very valuable! You will find some powerful insights and home truths about how to catch more carp for less money by maximising baits far more to their full potential and keeping full control over their impacts on carp and how much they cost!
Consider this; you put an old bait on the bluntest big hook you can find attached to thick monofilament line and fling it out almost anywhere on your carp water; it might seem strange but it would be no surprise if this caught some very big fish indeed due possibly to this unusual rig behaving in an unusual way, the big heavy hook being less easily ejected, the fish being all too ready to flee and hook itself on the blunt hook and the old bait being new and completely unique and so less of a potential threat! This might sound crazy but not so; having caught big fish testing this out proved to me that in fact an unusual bait is far more important than just a cursory look at the relative importance of fish location, a sharp hook or simple conventional rig design might suggest and that there is far more to this than first meets the carp senses!
When testing one friends successful ground bait mix by feeding fish 3 versions of it in a stock pond at Horseshoe Lake the difference between the carp responses to his bait and my 2 new versions were staggering. In fact my friend was a bailiff and was a top rod on that lake using his own recipe of homemade spod mix. But when introduced to stock pond carp beside my versions of his own spod mix, his mix was completely ignored and was left untouched, and meanwhile carp actually head-butted the bottom in search of the other new versions, (this was even after they had all been consumed!)
This was such a revelation to all of us that witnessed this test that it took us quite a while to accept what had happened and the strength of the reaction because after all, here was a proven consistently successful spod mix failing to even get nibbled whist in the presence of 2 other identically-based baits but with added extras. Of course I was expecting a strong feeding response to the substances added to the new spod mixes, but certainly did not really expect them to result in the original being ignored as if it did not even exist. Now if you have ever fished next to someone who is catching fish and you cannot get a bite on your formerly successful bait this could well be part of the reason and perhaps we all need to seriously ask ourselves if our baits are doing or not doing various things they are supposedly designed to do!
Bait is supposed to trigger a feeding response in order to get a hook into a fishes mouths, but for various reasons this obviously is not so straight forward in reality as carp dynamically learn in response to danger of being hooked on recognisable baits and bait substances and so on. Many times carp will eat free baits but identify and ignore hook baits entirely, if not mark them as dangerous, even fanning them to one side out of harms way and even silently communicating to other carp the dangerous nature of suspicious baits perhaps by hormones and body postures and movements etc.
New baits and unusual bait recipes with non-fashionable ingredients etc are very well proven to produce better catches than standard baits no matter how popular they once were on a water and having the personal ability and knowledge to make your own baits and ground baits and adapt readymade ones more to your specifications is an incredibly powerful edge over ordinary anglers dependant on expensive readymade baits!
By being able to make your own baits and adapt readymade baits you control many vital aspects of bait, from the ways they impact on carp senses, rate of metabolism and feeding and digestion, to your all important bait cost itself! Picture the effect on carp of being able to introduce free baits with far high levels of natural feed-triggering substances than bait companies can afford to sell profitably and the results you will be able to achieve! Probably the most obvious example for this cold water period is the possibility of including far higher levels of the famous green lipped mussel extract and betaine hydrochloride for instance which are very well proven to keep carp feeding more strongly and more repeatedly for longer, thus giving you far more chances of bites and hooked fish…
Although betaine and green lipped mussel extract are popular and well-known today they were not always and this demonstrates the possibility of many other substances yet to be fully exploited in various ways in baits of many forms; with homemade baits you can decide to put as much really stimulatory natural extracts for example into your bait as you like, (within recommended levels,) but above those commercial bait companies can afford! Use of liquid and powdered versions of the same exciting products used together in baits, can very much increase the performance of your homemade baits in ways the commercial baits used on your water may not operate due to having different recipes and differing ingredients and levels and forms of them and so on. As you can imagine, the possibilities for topping existing baits using homemade solutions and powdered combinations among other options are very exciting and really work effectively against commercial baits; homemade baits are certainly the equal of commercial baits for many very strongly proven reasons!
Anyone in the know when it comes to fishing baits, truly appreciates that outstanding catches are very much linked to the ability of an angler to control and maintain the concentration of excitory substances in close proximity to their hook baits, and knowledge of certain aspects of homemade bait making really do help in achieving this even with adapted readymade baits and ground baits! Try fishing with a PVA bag of whole readymade boilies compared to a bag of readymade boilies opened 3 days before use and crumbled and chopped and soaked in a feed-triggering PVA-friendly complex and cast out in a PVA bag holding a PVA-friendly glug too; the results are pretty different to say the least! But perhaps the biggest wake-up call of all is not merely the ability to control how your baits impact strongly on your fish and control swims etc, but the ability to control your spending by being able to spend on those ingredients, additives and so on with the most impact on fish; so requiring less bait but producing improved effects; with the best part being your shocking money savings!

Stonehenge II
There’s one attraction in Texas that can be considered a small ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. It is the so-called Stonehenge II, inspired by the pagan structure in Salisbury, England.
It isn’t really stone, as what it would make you believe. In reality, out of all the henges around the attraction grounds, there’s only one in there that is actually stone. The others are made out of plaster, steel frames. metal lathe, and white washing. The original stone was given to Al Sheppard, the constructor and initiator of the project. He had decided to erect the stone on his ground. That was when the idea was conceived. A bit later, some Easter Island heads were added a distance away. The heads are a good addition to the overall feel of the place.
The project was a product of friendship. With the obscurity of one stone looking funny. The original arch was created, and soon others were added, until the whole structure was built.
The Easter island heads were added a few years after the henge project was finished. The Easter heads look just the same as the original statues minus the weathered-tone, the material used and the actual weight and cost. They have the same mysterious look, the tone and even the gaudy jewelry and others.
Apparently, before he died, he had taken a trip to Alaska and had an interest in adding a totem pole to the collection of Easter heads, stone henges and what not.
The entire plan was for it to be just a retirement house, but Mr. Sheppard had no idea how this was going to spark natural curiosity. The whole attraction actually costs no entrance fee or anything, and visitors, tourists and resident children alike can frolic and play around the structures.
Just don’t do anything to destroy them. They are very important pieces to a very inspired man.

Captain Kyle Tomek – When Fish Become Machines
While some may sneer, others will smile when remembering the spring season of 2008. February through May proved to be the windiest season that anyone could remember. Though 20-30 mph winds became a dreaded norm last year, a certain breed of baitfish saved many days for a select few middle coast guides and anglers.
Summer is the season the surf rolls in, fall is the migration of shrimp, but the annual arrival of the almighty glass minnow is the highlight of springtime. Moving by the thousands, the silver and flashy prey arrive to the shallow flats. The buffet ushers in the pelicans and gulls which will feed for weeks on end. In an all-at-once attack, the speckled trout and redfish will hang near and then suddenly strike. Be patient and wait it out as it will significantly improve your chances of capitalizing on the frenzy.
On the brink of one of the windiest days last spring, Capt. Ken Sabin and I guided a large group of fishermen from Dallas and Austin. Winds had just swapped from the south at 20 mph to the north at around 30. Mother Nature’s last minute decision to alter the wind’s direction did a fantastic job pulling out the tide and muddying up every inch of wadeable water.
Upon leaving the Matagorda Harbor, Sabin and I were ambushed with recommendations by returning guides to cancel rather than attempt to wade in the blown out waters. We opted to give the customers a fighting chance at catching a fish rather than sending them home from a fishing trip that did not even involve a boat ride.
A wide cove on the south shoreline with a waist deep western bank was full of bait that was situated over thick grass. Pelicans slammed the water with high dive assaults. Within casting distance of the baitfish school, we lined up and affixed our wading boots in firm mud. Despite a falling tide and decreasing clarity, I was confident fish would move in. Brown Lures makes a glow and chartreuse soft plastic lure that worked well to produce the initial strikes by matching the glass minnows’ darting features. Dark strawberry and white succeeded in drawing undersized fish. A cruising redfish soon felt the hooks from a miniature chrome topwater. The bite remained slow, as I have seen it so many times before, until minimal sunlight remained. The real numbers of fish filed in.
With the bait tightly packed down from what once occupied the space of a swimming pool, the surface became like popcorn with minnows flipping and bouncing while pursued by trout jolting clear out of the water. Piranha-like predators furiously attacked the glass minnows like machines as the surface of the water began to boil.
Reeling fast and keeping the lure above the surface would draw trout above the water, but slowing down the retrieve produced the most solid hookups. Full limits of redfish were a token of the outing’s success.
If you’re still waiting for the right time to get out on the water, stop waiting; but don’t be afraid of the dark – after dark can be the best time of all!
